EHF EURO 2016 awarded to Poland

There was joy for Poland as they were awarded the right to organise Men's EHF EURO 2016

In the final session of the EHF Congress in Monaco in June 2012, the member federations awarded several upcoming major EHF events.

The main decision was for the Men's EHF EURO 2016, for which Poland, Croatia and Norway had bid.

After the presentation of all bids, the majority voted in favour of Poland (27 votes), followed by Croatia (15 votes) and Norway (4 votes).

The only applicant for the Women's EHF EURO 2016 was Sweden, as Turkey withdrew from their candidature.

The Men's EHF EURO 2016 will be hosted in the cities of Gdansk, Katowice, Krakow and Wroclaw from 15 to 31 January 2016.
